About YDM

YDM — YouTube Download Manager — is a Windows application for downloading YouTube videos and playlists reliably. Not “reliable” as a marketing word: reliable as an engineering requirement. Downloads resume from .part files across restarts, the queue survives crashes, disk space is guarded, and errors are classified into plain-language causes.

Under the hood, YDM is a single self-contained process built on a deliberate architecture: a system tray icon, a dedicated desktop window, and a local-only interface server, all sharing one service container. The download engine is embedded and refreshed with every release, and video and audio streams are merged by stream copy — zero re-encoding, no quality loss.

YDM is free software, released under the GNU General Public License v3. No ads, no telemetry, no accounts, no upsells.
